What to wear

Keep it simple.

You don't need to buy anything before your first class. Wear something you can move in and bring water.

  • Athletic clothing — shorts and a t-shirt are fine.
  • Water.
  • A gi, if you already own one.
  • Flip-flops or slides for off the mat.

Where to go

Classes run Monday through Saturday. Check the schedule before you drive over.

On the mat

How a class runs.

Every class follows the same shape, whether it's your first session or your five hundredth.

  • Warm-up

Stretching and movement to get the body ready. Caridian runs stretching routines before and after every class.

  • Technique

Alan demonstrates the technique of the day, then the room drills it in pairs.

  • Rounds

Sparring, scaled to the people on the mat.

Paperwork

The waiver.

Every new student signs a waiver before their first class. Print it at home and bring it with you, or sign at the gym.

Do I need a gi for my first class?

Not necessarily. Call ahead and we'll tell you what you need for the class you're coming to. If you own a gi, bring it.

Should I call before coming in?

Yes — call or send a message so we know to expect you and can point you to the right session.

How do I pay?

Single-class passes, one-week passes, and monthly memberships are sold through Square. See pricing.

Ready when you are.

Call the gym and we'll get you on the mat this week.
